A Beautiful Space
I fell in love with this inspiring live/work space when I saw it in this month’s UK Elle Decoration. The property is owned by Veerle Wenes and her husband, Bob Christiaens and is a home as well as an art gallery. The space is a cleverly curated mix of elegant colours, interesting furniture and beautiful art work. The lighter, white areas represent the more public side of the space and the walls get darker as you enter the more private areas such as the bedroom. Similarly, the red brick floors represent the living area while the grey brick can be found in the gallery. I love the very original bathroom which consists of various painted chests of drawers and cabinets on the walls for storage. Wenes commissioned artists from Studio Simple to create this system: ‘It’s like a mosaic, it’s a very personalised concept – I feel like it’s my bathroom.’ This has inspired me to go out and hunt for some vintage cabinets for my home!
